You can record audio in the app or upload recordings and we automatically transcribe spoken words into editable text using our transcription service. Accuracy depends on audio quality (clear, quiet recordings work best). Transcriptions are used only to generate and edit your memoir and are processed securely.

By default the AI aims to produce a substantive section (roughly ~1,000 words) to give a full narrative. If you'd prefer something shorter you can request a limited length output (for example, one paragraph, ~200 words). When generating you can also adjust the creative-license setting to control how strictly the AI sticks to your facts.

MemoirMaker.ai uses industry-leading AI for writing and transcription. We use modern language models to craft and polish your text, a speech-to-text model for audio transcription, and image-generation tools for optional cover art. You can control tone, perspective, and creative license for each generated section and always edit the results afterward.

New accounts get one free memoir to try. Free (unpaid) accounts are limited in how many AI-generated sections you can create (the site enforces a 3-section limit for unpaid users). Note: you will always be allowed to create your very first memoir even if you have no paid credits. To create additional sections or multiple memoirs, purchase credits on the Pricing page.

Yes — MemoirMaker.ai is available on iOS. Download the app from the App Store (search "MemoirMaker.ai" or visit https://apps.apple.com/app/memoirmaker-ai/id6756924405) to record, transcribe, and edit your memoirs on the go.

Yes — please update the MemoirMaker mobile app to the latest version from the App Store for the best experience. Older app versions may be required to update before they can continue to sync or use certain features.

Yes — we offer refunds for unused memoir credits requested within 14 days of purchase. If credits have already been used, refunds are considered case-by-case. To request a refund, please contact support at hello@memoirmaker.ai and include your order/transaction ID and a brief explanation; we'll respond with next steps.

Each memoir credit lets you create one memoir project on MemoirMaker.ai. That includes using our AI writing tools, transcription of uploaded/recorded audio, editing and organization tools in the editor, cover generation, and the ability to download your finished memoir. Credits are applied to your account immediately after purchase and are consumed when you create a new memoir.

Purchased memoir credits are normally applied to your account immediately. If you do not see them, please try signing out and signing back in first. If credits still don't appear, contact support at hello@memoirmaker.ai with your order/transaction ID and we will investigate and ensure your credits are applied.

We accept major credit/debit cards processed via our gateway and PayPal. Payment options are shown at checkout; if you need a different method (for example, an offline/manual payment), contact support and we can advise on next steps.

Yes — you must be signed in to complete a purchase. If you try to check out while logged out, the site will prompt you to register or sign in. Purchased credits are applied to your account immediately and a receipt is emailed to the address on file.

A receipt is emailed to the address on file immediately after a successful purchase. If you don't see it within a few minutes, please check your spam/junk folder and try signing out and back in; if the receipt is still missing, contact support with your order/transaction ID and we'll resend it.

We protect your memoirs with HTTPS site-wide and secure sessions. Session cookies are configured as Secure and HttpOnly with SameSite=Lax. We take care to limit exposure of data and use standard practices for secure transmission and session handling. If you need to delete your data or have privacy concerns, contact support and we will assist with account and data requests.

After registering you may receive a short welcome/nurture email sequence to help you get started; transactional emails (receipts and account notifications) will always be sent. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the message.

You can download your finished memoir as a print-ready PDF and a Word document (DOCX). If you need other formats such as EPUB or a specific file layout, contact support (hello@memoirmaker.ai) and we'll advise on available export options or help with a custom export.

Yes — you can speak your story by recording audio or uploading recordings. Our system transcribes recordings into editable text so you can refine, structure, and expand your memoir. For best transcription results, record in a quiet environment with clear speech.

From Your Memoirs, click Delete on the memoir card and confirm the prompt to remove it. For safety, the site asks you to type a confirmation (for example, YES) before the memoir is deleted. If you're unsure, contact support before deleting — deleted memoirs may not be recoverable.
