Authors

This would be odd for a memoir, but in this case, we would suggest a collective name like "The Anderson Family" or something similar. You can also all all the other authors to the 3rd author name and separate them by commas.

Publish!

No! This can be completely private if you like where nobody sees it but you. Or you can share it with the world. Your choice.

This means your memoir will be converted to formats that retailers like Amazon and B&N require for distribution. A published book is available for retail sale at retailers such as Amazon, Apple, Kobo, and more (see full list see https://www.bookmarketing.pro/frequently-asked-questions.html019 ).

Here are some things to consider:

  • Do you want strangers to read your memoir?
  • Do you think your memoir is something strangers would want to read?
  • Are you willing to invest a few hundred dollars in creating your book for publication?

If the answer is "yes" to all 3 questions, they you should publish your memoir.

It depends on what formats you want to publish in. Just ebook is least expensive and if you add print and audio it will be more. For exact prices, see https://www.bookmarketing.pro/publish-package.html and you can deselect the services you don't want. You will see exact costs.

If you are interested in creating an audiobook from your memoir, see these options:

In the download step, download your memoir in Word Document format and PDF. The PDF is the sharable format. You can simply e-mail this to friends and family. You can also send that document to your local print store (Kinkos/Staples are popular in the US right now) and have them print copies. You can then give those physical copies to friends and family.

Recurring Characters

Certainly yourself, assuming the memoir is about you. You should be the first character entered. Here are some reasons to enter a character in this section:

  • The character is you.
  • The character is mentioned in more than one section.
  • The character plays a significant enough role in your story where detailed background information will be helpful to AI.

If your character is not entered in the recurring character section, when you mention the character in your sections, you need to tell AI everything it needs to know to write that character into your story adequately.

Recurring Locations

Pretty much anything public. However, it doesn't know how you feel about those locations, so keep that in mind when choosing which locations to add.

Recurring Things

Think of a noun... person, place, or thing. The "person" is the recurring character, the "place" is the recurring location, and the "thing" is everything else. For example, I often refer to my 1972 Chevy Nova - my first car, in my stories. So this car would be a "thing".

Table of Contents

Look for second-level sections without a chapter (main section), and third level sections without a second-level section. For example:

Chapter

  • second level
    • third level

THE ABOVE IS GOOD

Chapter

    • third level level
  • second level

THE ABOVE IS BAD

Title

Titles should be Title Case, and the best titles are unique with a subtitle that comes after the title, separated by a colon. For example:

My Wonderful Life: The Story of Jane Doe

Tones

The tone helps give your writing a unique style making sound less like AI and more like a one-of-a-kind writing style. 2-3 tones are suggested.
